Narayan and his wife, Dharmadevi, serve as spiritual directors and lightbearers for Ananda LA. After reading Yogananda’s spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi, in New York City, he was inspired to learn Kriya Yoga and share the teachings of Self-realization. He was a founding member of Ananda NYC before moving to Ananda Village in Northern California where he lived for six years. He served at Ananda’s publishing arm, Crystal Clarity, and as a yoga and meditation instructor at the Expanding Light Meditation & Yoga Retreat. He co-founded Ananda Virtual Community–an interactive, online community with classes on yoga, meditation, and spiritual living. His interests include making ravioli, playing soccer, and exploring the divine grace and wonder of rudraksha beads.

She is a Certified Meditation & Yoga Teacher and was part of the core group that started Ananda Los Angeles in 2007. Dharmadevi lived at Ananda Village for 2 years and helped launch Ananda Online Classes and the Ananda Virtual Community. She has been practicing and teaching energy & holistic healing modalities since 2000 and especially enjoys sharing Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings on health and healing. Dharmadevi has worked extensively on the AKASH (Ancient Keys to Attaining Success & Happiness) series that Swami Kriyananda wrote while he lived in LA. Along with other teachers, she offers it around the LA area. She also offers energy healing sessions and spiritual counseling.
Jennifer, a certified Ananda Meditation Teacher, is a disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda and a Kriyaban. She joined Ananda Los Angeles in 2012. After experiencing significant life changes, she has deepened her commitment to the spiritual path through meditation and Kriya Yoga. Jennifer leads the Thousand Oaks meditation group. She is a wife and mother of two adult children. In her spare time she hikes with her dogs, sings in a community choir and enjoys time with friends.
Kathy, a certified Ananda Meditation teacher, has been meditating and practicing yoga since her teen years. In her search for Spiritual growth, she has been exposed to various teachings and explored many paths. When she discovered Ananda, through a friend in 2013, she knew she had finally found what she had been searching for, and soon became a disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda and a Kriyaban.
She is always excited to share her enthusiasm for Yogananda’s Energization Exercises, chanting, and meditation techniques with new friends and the growing Ananda community in the Thousand Oaks area.
Kathy has also practiced energy healing since 2002, and enjoys painting portraits of animals as well as abstract and cosmic art.
Claudia leads the Spanish Ministry for Ananda LA. She is an Intuitive Healer, Holistic Therapist, Yoga & Meditation Teacher, Spiritual Counselor, and Life Coach. She retired from the medical field at a young age to become a Holistic Ayurvedic Natural Therapies Advocate. She became a disciple and Kriyaban of Paramhansa Yogananda. She helps people overcome health challenges by simply aligning Body Mind & Soul by creating positive habits: Healthy Eating, Yoga, Energization Exercises, Meditation, Energy Healing & Fitness. She dedicates her life to serving others through playing music (flute) & organizing fitness fundraising events to help low income seniors and children with disabilities. Her bubbly and caring personality brings happiness, love and hope “to the forgotten”. Today she continues her life of service offering Courses in Healing and Spirituality as well as private Healing Sessions Worldwide, serving and teaching at Ananda LA.
Aryeh is a Peaceful Lion born and raised in the concrete jungle of Los Angeles roaming the streets for years on a skateboard. Led to yoga in high school with the thought flexibility and balance would support his passion for skateboarding. Years of flow classes brought him a desire to become a yoga instructor, but he wanted something deeper from the practice. He found what he was looking for in the practice of Ananda yoga and is now a 200hr certified instructor in the practice of Ananda yoga for higher awareness. He is grateful for the opportunity to bring light, love and healing to all great souls through the practice of yoga. He wants to remind you to breathe, be humble, enjoy the asana, and smile forever. Life is a beautiful journey and it is all practice.
